When a Panel Upgrade Makes Sense

Most older homes were wired for a fraction of the load a modern household runs. If your panel is a 60 or 100 amp service, or a known-problem brand like Federal Pacific or Zinsco, it is worth a look. The signs are usually clear: breakers that trip under normal use, lights that dim when the dryer starts, a panel with no room left for another circuit, or a fuse box that has never been touched.

Adding an EV charger, a heat pump, a hot tub, or a workshop often pushes a panel past its capacity. We size the upgrade to the home you have and the load you are adding, so you are not back here in two years.

What a Panel Upgrade Includes

  • A load calculation to size the service correctly.
  • A new panel and breakers, with the permit pulled.
  • Coordination with the utility for the service change.
  • Grounding and bonding brought up to current code.

Capacity We Install

200 amp service. The common standard for a modern single-family home, with room for EV charging and electric appliances.

100 to 125 amp service. A fit for smaller homes and condos where a full 200 amp service is not needed.

Subpanels. Added capacity for a garage, shop, ADU, or addition without replacing the main.

Permits and Inspection

Panel work is permitted work. We pull the permit, do the job to code, and schedule the city inspection. You are left with the documentation and a panel that is safe, labeled, and ready for what you plan to add next.
